CargoWise Compliance Initiative

CargoWise has a major new initiative committed to global compliance focussed on the CargoWise "Four Pillars of Compliance" which are Customs Compliance, Accounting/VAT Compliance, Local Documentation and Localised User Interface.

Sarah White is the Product Manager for Global Compliance. With deep global logistics industry experience, Sarah works in establishing priority and development roadmap for our global goals.

The rollout of global compliance is a daunting task with so many countries and requirements, and each pillar of compliance will have a different timetable and delivery for each key country on our roadmap. Full Compliance is a long term effort and there will always be some aspects of work in progress, however in the last few months, in addition to the many general compliance capabilities we have already built and continue to maintain, we have delivered or are near completion on Canadian ACI Pre Alerts, broad Euro VAT compliance and French, Dutch, Italian, Spanish, Chinese and Japanese Local Documentary requirements and Chinese and French User Interfaces.

IncoTerms 2010

Incoterms are internationally accepted definitions for the sale of goods and are the global standard for the most common commercial terms. They exist to assist traders in avoiding costly misunderstandings at each stage of the goods movement. The current Incoterms 2000 have been reviewed and a new edition, Incoterms 2010, will be implemented January 1, 2011. There will be no 'grace period'. Freight forwarders should be aware of the forthcoming changes and consider the impact on the distribution of charges when invoicing consignments. MORE >
