Key Management

Richard White
CEO and founder of CargoWise

Richard's skills combine a unique 17-year understanding of the industry with 30 years in both software development and business management. He has a deep technical understanding of Electronic Data Interchange standards (EDIFACT, ANSI, XML etc) and e-Commerce and combines this with a strong commercial grip on industry issues.

Richard actively works to assist the industry in a number of voluntary forums. He consults voluntarily to scores of industry associations and attends the many International Customs Service sponsored technical forums that are required in order to develop business and systems processes to suit the International regulatory environment.

He is keenly and actively involved in commercial and non-commercial activities that develop the capabilities of the international supply chain and the providers that work within it.

Having completed his Masters of Business in Information Technology (MBIT) at the University of Technology, he is now deeply involved in research into data management in the international supply chain and is working towards a PhD in this area. This research is adding to the body of work on supply chain management and is feeding back into products and development at CargoWise.

When not developing software, researching the supply chain or spending time with his family, he enjoys playing jazz guitar.
